2012

I am working on getting everything ready for Camp 2012. The resort is reserved. We have two teachers booked. Fiona Ellis will be coming back. We love Fiona. Her classes are amazing. She is knowledgeable and explains things in a way that everyone can understand. Thursday night with Fiona is always fun. She loves to join in on the games even when she knows she is going to lose.

We have a new instructor coming this year.

Beth Casey, the owner of Lorna's Laces, will be joining us to teach workshops in dying yarn. You will have to wait for the brochure but I can tell you that I want to take her classes!!

Pictures from Fiona

Fiona just sent an email with some more pictures from Camp. Thank you Fiona.

A direct quote from Fiona's email
Love the one of Beth -double handed Butter tarts :)
The food is a very important part of Camp life.

This is Fiona's team during the Thursday night game. Beth and I can't remember where Fiona's team placed. We are both guessing last. Not because of the ladies on the team but for some reason Fiona never wins.

More pictures from John

When John and Maria visited a few weeks ago we downloaded lots of pictures to my computer. I showed some from the fashion show. Here are some of the lake. I hope they bring back good memories of the nice weather that we won't see until next year.

Friday Night Fashion Show

John and Maria were in today. John brought his camera to upload pictures from Camp to my computer.

Here are some fashion show photos. We decided that next year we are going to put an X on the floor in tape where we want the models to stop so that John can get a picture. We have a few pictures where the models are moving and the garments are a bit fuzzy. John thought that the model had stopped and when he clicked the picture they moved. During the fashion show we encourage people to touch the garments. There are a couple of shots where someone reached out to feel as John was clicking.

We had over 40 garment in the fashion show. My knitters were very busy. Rowan also send some new garments from their fall collection for us.

It is 50 weeks until next year's Camp and it takes a long time to get 40 new garments made. My knitters have their needles clicking!!

Did Beth push Julie?

Here are some pictures from Camp that Val forwarded to me. On Saturday night at dinner, Beth offered Julie $1000 knitting dollars if Julie would jump in the lake with all her clothes on. Julie thought for a bit and with some prompting from Val, Rhonda and Lynda she decided to do it. Beth said she would jump in with Julie.

Off to the lake they went taking off their boots. I can tell by the look on Beth's face that she is trying to figure a way out of this.

They ran down the dock and then I knew that Beth wasn't going in. Beth said that two steps from the end Julie knew that she was going alone. Beth swears that she didn't push Julie but the it sure looks like it in the picture.

I am afraid to see what people are going to do next year at Camp to earn Knitting Dollars.

Home From Camp

I hope everyone made it home safely. The van is unpacked and tomorrow I will get the store back in order.

I want to thank everyone for coming and making it a great weekend.

Throughout the weekend I made mental notes of things that need to be done for next year to make life easier for the students and instructors. I send out emails with homework and what you need to bring but sometimes these emails don't get through. What can I do to make sure that you have all the information you need? Why not start a Camp blog? This way the information will be posted and you will always be able to find it.

I will be posting pictures from Camp 2011 and will be posting as information is available for Camp 2012.

In case you missed the dates: Thursday September 20-Sunday September 23, 2012.

If you have pictures to share, please email to me and I will post them.
